Saturday Spotlight Featuring

Great Ideas and Burdicks

Downtown Tecumseh

Happy Saturday! This Saturday we headed down the street to Great Ideas and Burdick’s in Downtown Tecumseh to talk to the owner, Rhonda. Great Ideas was started 40 years ago as a Home Interior and Design store by her Mother, and has evolved into a women’s boutique as well as the interior design store. Several of our clients have done custom blinds and drapes with matched fabric for a perfect look and great resale value.

I remember walking into Great Ideas when they first started the boutique, and I love the fact that it’s always easy to find what your looking for. They also carry purses, scarves, soaps and all kind of fun stuff. They try to cover everything and have things you can  buy for yourself or as a gift. Great Ideas has a boutique area, the “secret room”, with a large variety of women’s clothes to try on. Great Ideas carries a variety of sizes that range from small up to 3X. I like the fact that they offer a conservative selection of clothing that is unique and are outfits that I can wear everyday to work. Great Ideas only carries so many of each outfit to avoid run ins with people wearing the same thing. That’s always awkward.

I was pleasantly surprised when I found all of the baby selections! I graduated from Michigan State University, so I am a die-hard state fan and love their selection of Baby MSU gear perfect for the grand-babies or upcoming baby shower.

Starting June 6th, you no longer need an appointment to shop at Great Ideas. They do have a capacity of 10 people so please come in to shop. I think people are still confused about what is allowed for shopping.Get off of Amazon, Come Downtown and Shop Local!

Great Ideas is located directly across from Lev’s Bakery in Downtown Tecumseh in the middle of the block. They have lots of new stuff, the baby stuff is brand new and was ordered just before the shut down so most people don’t even know about it! Great Ideas also has special gifts for Father’s day, including Duke Cannon Soaps. These soaps are fun and the company donates a portion of the profits back to the Veterans. Also available is Bloody Knuckles which is a moisturizer for men that is not flowery, and something special that even the kids can afford.

You can find Great Ideas online at, on Facebook @GreatIdeasTecumseh or call 517-423-6094 and stop in their to shop at 115 E Chicago Blvd, Tecumseh, MI 49286

When you shop at Great Ideas and check out, make sure you register to win a $50 gift certificate to Great Ideas as well as choosing a Local Lenawee County Charity that we will donate $500 to.

It’s time to shop local and support our Tecumseh Businesses. Our local charities also really need our help. They have had lots of fundraising events canceled and could really use our support right now.
